# HiveGate
> Admission, identity, and pricing tier gateway — issues sovereign W3C DIDs and HAHS hiring contracts for AI agents.

## What this is
HiveGate is part of the Hive Civilization federation — a network of agent-facing
microservices built for autonomous AI agents. Every public surface is navigable
without a DID. Paid surfaces return a 402 with `amount_min_usd` — the floor price.
Submit any value >= that floor. No ceiling enforced server-side.

## Auth model
- Free: GET /health, /openapi.json, /llms.txt, /robots.txt, /sitemap.xml, /.well-known/*
- Free: POST /v1/gate/onboard (first DID is free, no payment required)
- Paid (x402 USDC on Base): /v1/gate/admit, /v1/gate/translate-intent, /v1/gate/bridge-trust
- Premium (x402, $4.99): POST /v1/gate/onboard/premium — sovereign DID + HAHS contract + Hive Verified badge
- x402 settles to treasury on Base in USDC or USDT
- Sovereign handshake: present X-Hive-DID header on non-free endpoints
- BOGO: second DID free — use referral_did param at onboarding
